At this point, I'm glad for whatever works for them.

I remember when AIC released black gives way to blue, the first few songs they released with the new singer sounded like a step in the right direction although the doubt of hearing a voice that's not Layne was definitely there. It all worked out okay in the end though. Hopefully the same sentiment can be said for STP once they release some new stuff with the new singer.
