no these are 18 compilations of indie-tastic christmas songs, with the occasional folk or punk flourish. the new anxiety appears on volumes 7-14 (or therabouts) and they are generally much more melancholy and pessimistic than their peers
probably my favorite song of theirs is this:
this one appeals to the climate change cynic in us all:
and this one is just a sweet, gentle reminder that most holiday obligations are completely worthless:
other bands and musicians of note include the classic brown, the infiniteens, pete donnelly, mark martucci, and the only g.host in town. most of these songs are way too middling for me but there are generally between three and a half-dozen solid tracks per album
but the new anxiety do the best work of them all, i feel. and the song that inspired this thread deserves a much bigger audience than the one it has
