anyway the comment doesn't say that they're recording the entire album, or that they're recording the album at all. what it says is they have three weeks with maynard in march, and that they're recording in march and april. tool hasn't recorded a full-length album in two months ever. it could be the first proper demos with maynard on them for all we know. and let's not even get into who is this random instagram follower that adam jones, guitarist for the most annoyingly secretive band on the planet, is just responding to out in the open, dropping huge news for all to see

if they record a brand new album full of brand new songs this spring and then put it out at some point in the next calendar year or so, bully. but i do not expect this and neither should you

final versions without vocals though. they could hear the songs after maynard sings on them and go "oh no this part doesnt work and that bit is all wrong, now we need to rewrite things"

i'm happy to be wrong, i just don't expect anything resembling speed or efficacy from this band

in the meantime i think i may jam some more lateralus-era bootlegs
