i gotta say....im kind of worried. the two tracks released arent bad by any means but they are boring compared to the last two records

That's one of the first ones they started playing live before they went and recorded

this is a wonky song, it starts off with a neat bit that sounds like a preamble, then gets repetitive because they don't go anywhere with it

and then they go somewhere else and it becomes an interesting thing

After the first 2 songs they brought some dudes up on stage to play keyboards and percussion for the rest of the set. Big news, sound attack and cyrpess grove had some nice drawn out jamage in them. After seeing them play with those dudes I get where go-go music was such a big influence on them. It was totally worth the shorter set to see them in such a tiny venue. That was probably the most excited I've seen Neil on stage of all the shows I've been too.

only nine songs overall even with three extended jams that is still a short setlist by clutch standards

I don't know if they were premieres or not. They usually play a bunch of songs on tour well before they are released or even recorded sometimes.

The song about crab cakes is hot bottom feeder and the other was in walks barbarella according to setlist.fm. Hot bottom feeder was a good ass jam and seemed more in line for a clutch song compared to the other one. In walks barbarella was alright but it seemed out of place overall. This may well could have been because it was a rather upbeat setlist instead of it just being a bad song.

I've seen them play a good fire twice. There's videos of them playing spirit of 76, paper & strife, and vison quest too.

i think every song on psychic warfare was on youtube a few months before the album came out thanks to all the live shows and most of the ones on earth rocker as well

but it is also possible that they have never played the current versions of the new songs live, as neil said they had several different versions of each one & were still toying with them in the studio. so you may have been the first to hear hot bottom crabcake and in walks barbarella in their final form

Gotta be honest after one full listen, extremely underwhelming, overlong, and tired. They could easily cut 4-5 tracks and that'd help a bit
