new tool album recording is complete

Postby Josh » 08 Jan 2019, 23:32

Maynard said a few days ago on Twitter he finished the final vocals months ago and they have been mixing. I’m betting a May release. He was on joe rogans podcast last year and said the best times to release albums are in the spring and the fall. May seems the perfect time. But I wouldn’t be surprised either if it releases on sept/Oct

Joe Barresi behind the board again... can’t wait!
I always love his recording and mixing work.

doesn't he rant about snowflakes and shit. i bet he's bill maher but in a band

anyway maybe this album will be good, they've had 13 years to fine tune this shit. also can't wait for the tool superfans to figure out the sacred geometry equations in the gap between releases and how that really takes the album to a level higher than any of us casuals could ever hope to conceive of

Yeah I liked that Lateralus song where every sentence starts with a number of the sequence.

I think that shit is cool but it doesn’t make a song good or bad.

yeah i've always found it kinda funny that people take that approach as something that imparts meaning to the music itself, rather than just a clever songwriting tool. i think it's really neat from that aspect but uhh, probably not something to base your life on or stake your beliefs in.
