This is why so many European bands don’t even bother anymore to do shows in the states.

Usually bands keep it in perspective and know that they make it up in merch sales. However, if promoters aren’t going to at least break even, which depending on the guarantee, then yeah they start to worry. I would say that The majority of metal shows don’t sell out here unless the bands are playing a venue that is simply too small for their actual status for that market.
