the new rammstein album
Is really fucking good. On my third straight listen. First time through I was mixed on it. Second play through the pieces made more sense. Now it fucking jams sans diamant

My general feeling! Haven’t heard the new album yet. I think it’s an incredibly great band.

Re: the new rammstein album
when this band first came up here they occupied a musical space that seemed like a compromise that watered down all the best parts of industrial & metal to the point where it didn't appeal to me on either axis. and this was when i was transitioning from a wee industrial kid to a metalhead in earnest, so ultimately i was a bit too cool for it.
i think that synopsis and their long-established reputation as the radio-friendly laibach are still largely true, BUT also they're just good honest fun to listen to and that's fine! every band doesn't need to be the pinnacle of artistic achievement! i enjoyed the title track that was posted here a few weeks back, so i decided to give this a go after having otherwise ignored this band for the last 20 odd years.
my review of the new rammstein album is: yoooo this shit rules, the whole album kicks ass. listened to it twice this weekend and i will listen to it more in the weeks to come. just some good-ass jams that get the fists a-pumping. a good fellating lover speaks highly of their live shows (and i think some here have as well, lummo perhaps?) so i am gonna endeavor to catch them the next time they play here

Re: the new rammstein album
I did not expect that at all. Good on ya mate. Is not puppe eerie as fuck? Tils vocals in the chorus are powerful as all hell. Apparently the song is about a little sexy leopard elevator whose older but still very young sister “goes to work” in the next room. the younger sister rips the head of her puppet she has as she hears her sister screaming next door. She investigates and witness’s the man she was prostituting herself to beat and kill her. The young sister killed the man as the track ends.
On their live show, yes fucking go. Not just stormy but anyone that gets the chance to see rammstein live. Best live show in the fucking business, bar nun.

Haven’t had the chance to listen yet - but yeah their live shows are worth it. Paid like $80 or something for floor seats last time and walked away not only in awe but with a sense that it was worth every cent. That concert was several years ago now (2012?) and I have been to tons of others since - to this day it is still the best concert I’ve ever attended.

This might be my favorite Rammstein album since Mutter!
Though, Sehnsucht will always have a special place in my heart.

Re: the new rammstein album
Oh the reviews are heralding "the fitting conclusion of six albums", but I suppose those are 90% by people who don't speak German and therefore cannot grasp the free-of-consistency horseshit that Lindemann is babbling on this record. I haven't enjoyed a single moment of any of these songs. I think a rammstein cover band could have wrote an edgier record.

Re: the new rammstein album
and you speak fluent German
Free of consistency in his lyrics. What does that even mean?
you want them to write an “edgy” record, are you 13? I think child prostitution, kidnapping, murder, and torture are pretty “edgy” subject matter.

I think the lyrics are great. Diamant is beautiful.

Gotta listen to it some more to really rank it. So far Ausländer is one track I keep coming back to. Radio is cool too.

I had to convince my cousin who’s a huge rammstein fan to buy the album. He hated both singles.

i jammed this shit twice at work today it's so good. also have listened to mutter and reise. i will probably give sehnsucht a listen soon, but it super reminds me of german class with herr atlas in sophomore year of high school so i've been avoiding it. he was really excited that one of the freshman kids was into german music until he invited him to play it for the class, herr atlas was a tina turner superfan
