I feel like you have a Tim Hecker album in your year end list every year. He must be a workaholic :redneck:

he puts out stuff relatively frequently, but this is actually the first time he's had back to back releases. konoyo & anoyo were recorded together i think, just released with a 7-8 month gap

Incidentally earlier today I heard the only two albums that came out in 2019 that I like. Granted I don't really check out much new stuff anymore so obviously there's probably plenty out there I would enjoy if I wasn't too lazy to go looking for it. Anyway:

Mortiferum - Disgorged From Psychotic Depths

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPvtbYISZUA

Oath of Cruelty - Summary Execution at Dawn

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scnuG_ujXp4

I could see myself eventually buying the Mortiferum album. The Oath of Cruelty one more than anything jumped out at me as a respectable throwback album, which doesn't happen often. I think the fact that the band members have been around for a while is what enabled them to pull it off as well as they did, especially for a debut.

A kid I work with listens to a lot of metal and travels to Europe kind of a lot to see shows, so I've started getting a little more up to date with what's going on. It's always fun chatting with him but I feel like an old fart only ever talking about shit that came out 25-35 years ago :redneck:
