albums you feel are underrated by the metal community
the first one that pops into my head is once was not.
super duper under appreciated record imo. I wish more folks dug it. Plus it was my first and only time seeing them live during this tour. I was right in front and worm was a pleasure to watch

I always wish 90s Brett Hoffman Malevolent Creation got the same amount respect/exposure as Morbid Angel, Death, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, etc. did. I've always held them in high regard but I feel that others don't really see them in the same 'death metal cred rep' standing as those 4 bands (which is how I've always seen them). Even Napalm Death and Carcass seem to be 'above' them.

Absolutely everyone here lost their shit over that awful album. I was one of the only people who recognized that album & LW’s horrendous performance as total dogshit. It was true then and it’s still true nowjorsh wrote:really? i remember most here crapping all over it because his vocals werent nsv good

well then people need to stop confusing the word “underrated” with “overrated”!zim wrote:lets not go down this path fellas
like i have zero qualms with people liking stuff i don’t, but calling that album underrated is just ahistorical, is my point here

all of the LW albums were for sure, i think the disalvo albums were less universally-acclaimed but even those i wouldn't call underrated

Re: albums you feel are underrated by the metal community
anyway the whole premise of what's underrated versus what's overrated is mostly nebulous and impossible to answer in any satisfactory way
(except in the case of once was not which is so obviously overrated i can't believe i'm having this discussion. i mean come on, absolutely everyone, even its staunchest defenders know deep down that the album is hot trash and has never deserved its lofty reputation)
