Yes they are.
You can divide them into two totally different eras, the ‘95 and prior goofy super-british joke Blur and the artsy Radiohead-esque Blur.
I guess I like both eras equally

Their last real album (Think Tank) is the only that I dont like.
By that time Coxon (guitarist and writer) had left and they totally went artsy without all the elements that made them a fun band.
They’ve since then reunited and made somw pretty spectacular live albums and a cool documentary :santa:

Oasis will always be my fav, but I’ve really been taken by Blur over the last decade or so. The Britpop/rock scene was totally awesome, Pulp, Verve, Steriophonics, The Wildhearts... super cool stuff.
The documentary is excellent, you should give it a spin :santa:

I only know of song 2, beetlebum and cawfee and TV

I remember the cawfee and TV video with the milk cartons but i always thought the song itself was mediocre at best

From what I've listened to so far on spotify, I think leisure is my fav from them. Maybe their most "alternative" sounding album

Warren Huart did an interview with the producer of Song 2. Quite an interesting story how that song came together.

It is. That album was made with America in mind. Apprently the gameplan was to “break” in America, which was a non-event. After a disasterous US tour the band apparently decided to ditch said plans and wrote a super-british album. They pretty much owned the british market until Oasis annihilated the European record industry with Morning Glory.

It’s awesome music, but I do wonder how well people outside of Britain, or even Europe manage to understand it. I’ve spent considerable time in Britain so I got it right away. Britishness is awesome
