why do so many metal concert videos omit the crowd

bands just stand there and play music and occasionally go grrr, show me the intense crowd action

three times i believe

ozzfest 99 was the first

headlining in atlanta at the tabernacle on november 3 2001

then the following summer at the same venue, in august i think. lombardo had rejoined and they played a ton of old stuff. at dawn they sleep, haunting the chapel, the antichrist :bang:

after that i lost interest because the new albums weren’t as good and i had way less disposable income

it’s definitely the older and dumber brother of seasons in the abyss but it’s also good grim 80s slayer shit :bang:

yeah i definitely saw them on this tour as well, august '02. sold out show but i managed to find someone with an extra ticket outside, he got very paranoid about taking more than face value and refused the extra cash i offered :redneck:

iirc it was a mix of GHUA and classic bangers, at dawn they sleep is my standout memory from that show and i think the only time i saw them play it

it is a top-tier slayer track for sure, it would not be out of place at the very top of the heap
