Favorite guitar solo?
Well I've thought about this a lot and though there have been many great guitar solos out there...some can be really simple and sound just right while some can just be some ub3r-Malmsteen wankery but personally, my favorite has always been the solo from Metallica's Ride The Lightning title track...not too flashy but it's really epic and I think it's just really, really good and fits the song just right.

I have always really enjoyed Kirk's solo in "The Unforgiven" and Zakk Wylde's solo in Ozzy's "No More Tears".

I'm not really sure specifically but I think I can definitely say this is in my top 10 or maybe even my top 5 favorite solos list. :mmm: I love the transition in said from the slow, epic part.

Nile: "To Dream of Ur"
It's just...perfect. Everything fits the song so well, and it's not pointless wankery. Every note is important...etc.

The solo duel in Death - Trapped in a corner: Andy LaRoque is amazing with vibrato and Chuck finishes it off brilliantly:

The November Rain solo is a good example of a well-placed solo that's free of any sort of wankery. Overrated or not, Slash is a genius.
