Re: Triggers
You might be able to get away with under 300$ if you get a cheap module and one trigger.

Re: Triggers
I think the module is usually the most expensive piece

Re: Triggers
Look for Roland triggers. They are a bit more expensive comparing to DDrum ones, but are sturdier, more durable.
Another cheap alternative are DrumDial triggers. They can be had for like 40$ a set (5 triggers), and apparently lots of people are happy with them.
As far as modules are concerned, I know that a lot of people swear by Alesis DM5.

Re: Triggers
My drummer used DDrum triggers--forgot which model. He was inspired to switch to triggers after we played in a club that rarely had metal much less extreme metal, and the sound man said, "I only have one kick drum mic--which one would you like me to mic?"
I am the Dragon. And you call me insane. You are privy to a great becoming, but you recognize nothing. To me, you are a slug in the sun. You are an ant in the afterbirth. It is your nature to do one thing correctly: Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe.
