You might be able to get away with under 300$ if you get a cheap module and one trigger.

I think the module is usually the most expensive piece :oldryan:

Look for Roland triggers. They are a bit more expensive comparing to DDrum ones, but are sturdier, more durable.

Another cheap alternative are DrumDial triggers. They can be had for like 40$ a set (5 triggers), and apparently lots of people are happy with them.



As far as modules are concerned, I know that a lot of people swear by Alesis DM5.

My drummer used DDrum triggers--forgot which model. He was inspired to switch to triggers after we played in a club that rarely had metal much less extreme metal, and the sound man said, "I only have one kick drum mic--which one would you like me to mic?" :frown: :shock:
