Boost pedals

Post by FUKKET »

So i'm after a (i think) boost pedal.

remember I'm a bassist.

Just something to add a bit of 'crunch' to my tone for some parts of songs. Not distortion.

I'm currently using my boss bass overdrive, with the gain turned down really low, but it's still a bit too distorted.

I still want clean, but just a bit of grit (or boost, if that's the correct term - I'm not all over FX thingys)

:santa:

Ones i've been looking up & checking out could be these.

EH LPB-1

MXR Micro Amp

Deviever Dark Boost

Catalinbread Super Chili Picoso

I like the sound of the Chili in some vids, but it's with guitars.

I think the guys in Beak have a MI Boost n buff, but i'm not sure. It's red & white. I can't ask at the moment, both guys are away o/s.

anyone have suggestions?

cheers

OD 808 is a great tube screamer

but yea, not sure it'd work well with a bass, with the mid hump and all

I was going to suggest a cheapo in the Boss SD-1, until I read about the bass, SD-1 being a tube screamer variant

I've heard this is very good for the price <!-- m -->http://www.amazon.com/MOOER-Boost-bypas ... flex+boost<!-- m -->

also, maybe a Boss Bass EQ could do the trick

A ton of bass players seem to use the Tech 21 Sansamp Bass DI. Not sure if that is more of a distortion type jobby though.
