I've never held a bass before although I've been meaning to do so. 
I'll probably pickup some cheapo Ibanez Gio bass to play around once sard is lifted.
Favorite bass sound...a lot of records have great bass sound but the first thing that came to my mind is Death's Individual Thought Patterns (Steve DiGiorgio
). The bass on that record sounds really sweet.
