The fins of the V body put me off but I like the neck and the headstock. And I've heard nothing but great things about the EMG Hetfield set of pickups although I've never heard them myself.
 
They should just bring back his signature Vs with flames like the one seen in The Memory Remains video.

I wouldn't want a King V simply because of their painted necks.

i like painted necks, the neck on my first legit guitar was painted white to match the body

My first guitar was a cheap heavily modified Les Paul (I wasn't sure if it was an Epi or some Asian-made knock off, it was repainted and the logos weren't visible anymore). Though it had a really mean sounding bridge pickup, I really hated that neck. Which is why RGs are where it's really at for me. If it doesn't have an unpainted, thin maple neck, that guitar is most probably not for me. :brushteeth:
 
I did try an ESP/LTD once in a store and it had a satin-finished neck. That actually played nice. It almost felt like there's no paint on the neck at all.
