That other Morbid Angel guitarist just got an Ibanez endorsement
He was previously endorsed by Ola Englund's Solar guitars brand.
Could Trey follow suit soon?

part of me think it's lame he bailed on the solar guitar endorsement, maybe he was just using that as an in with a bigger brandshadowalk wrote:He was previously endorsed by Ola Englund's Solar guitars brand.

i was hoping this would lead to Ibanez signing Trey and eventually an Ibanez Trey sig

i don't think that's ever been treys style - i think he has even turned down endorsement offers over the yearsshadowalk wrote:i was hoping this would lead to Ibanez signing Trey and eventually an Ibanez Trey sig

Correct. Because he highly modifies them and uses bodies and necks and hardware from different guitars.zim wrote:i don't think that's ever been treys style - i think he has even turned down endorsement offers over the yearsshadowalk wrote:i was hoping this would lead to Ibanez signing Trey and eventually an Ibanez Trey sig

In one of the few rambling interviews he's done in recent years he stated that he only buys used guitars and won't ever do an endorsement. But didn't Jeff Hanneman have an endorsement but continue to use his old guitars from other brands?iamgoat wrote:Correct. didn't he get a sig from Dean a few years back? or was that just some one-off custom?

i think he had two custom guitars from dean but no endorsementshadowalk wrote:didn't he get a sig from Dean a few years back? or was that just some one-off custom?
i remember reading that too. i kind of admire the fact that trey doesn't do guitar endorsements. also there was that time bc rich used an image of him without his permission and he got a free guitar out of itPaste Human wrote:In one of the few rambling interviews he's done in recent years he stated that he only buys used guitars and won't ever do an endorsement. dunno about jeff though, if he hadn't any endorsement it wasn't as blatant as kerry king
