Flat out writing for a project thats finally coming to fruition with some amazing musicians/friends. Going to record some demos this week once I get my head around pro tools.

Also learning some covers. Including this one:

I'm writing and recording the first full-length album for Treeweaver.

http://treeweaver.bandcamp.com

I have two demos and one single out with the band right now. Just me doing all the writing and recording at the moment, eventually when I have the means I'm going to re-record most of this material with all analog equipment and go for the type of production on FFttF. The music itself is a mix between black metal, death metal, psychedelic doom/stoner metal, and thrash metal. Writing and arrangement style is pretty stream of consciousness, or "use once and destroy". Definitely trying to do something new with these jams. The first album will have some dope cover art drawn for it by someone who is actually good at drawing (unlike me). All in all I'm very stoked about this project.

well keep practicing then!

speaking of guitar solos, i almost never think of them these days in my music. i feel like so many guitarists cram them into song s just because they want to and not because it compliments the song in anyway. food for thought

I appreciate the feedback. I had a lot of fun writing and recording Kykeon, solos included, and I think they complement the song perfectly and go along with the flow of it. I was listening to a lot of the later Death material at the time, and felt inspired to compile some of my greatest death/thrash riffs into a song and let loose with some fretboard fury as much as possible for the duration of the track. I had just finished making a more simplistic black metal release before making Kykeon, so I was very compelled to make as many technical riffs and big shreds as I could.

an album that was finished over a year ago, but our vocalist quit before he got around to recording his parts, so we've just been sitting on the instrumentals for the time being. finally just decided to release it as is for folk to listen to.

it may be worth mentioning that the album was completely written by the time i'd started jamming with these gents. the only thing i did was add some harmonys to a few songs. now that we're vocalistless things are beginning to take an interesting turn musically.

what i really want to get recorded is the stuff i've been working on with a full band.

live rehearsal recording from a little over a month ago. you can't really hear the samples, but for just doing the recording total black metal style (just kind of set up some mics and aim them in our general direction) it doesn't sound too bad, considering.

Treeweaver, my weird psychedelic death/black/thrash band, solo project

Einherjar, my war metal band, solo project

Hell's Coven, old school death metal band I'm doing with a fellating lover who is contributing drums and bass for me online

Flamme Noire, a band I am doing with said fellating lover and some French splendid mate of mine, take my hand as we cross this meadow who got a pro logo for it,

I am the main songwriter for all of these except the last one, even though I wrote the only song we are working with so far for the last one.
