What are your current projects right now?

Are you writing, recording or still in a concept phase? Tell us about it here!

:santa:

Mine are:

- Experimental Jazz quartet recordings next week, for an EP release.

- Week after that: drum recordings for a deathmetal band, which you all will be getting to know soon enough.

Also an EP release for next year.

- Guitar, drums and vocal writing + recording sessions for a black/doom project with a school mate.

- Writing lyrics and recording vocals for a doom/noise project with Herr Fukket.

- Rock band with my now roommates and old friends. It's hard to describe, so I'll just stick with layered, experimental rock.

- My solo writings, while varied, are typically influenced by 40's-60's delta blues/punk.

- Music for a fellating lover's film. That hasn't gone anywhere in weeks and from what I hear she's done nothing with the film in near 7 months, so I think I'm done with that.

- In talks with a hard-on bearer in the city to join his solo effort and start collaborating. We're both trying to accomplish the same style; blues influence rock in the vein of Black Keys, Dan Auerbach, Blues Explosion, blah blah.

* AM FREQUENCIES (my solo stuff)

- remix project (remixes of my album from last year by myself and other wicked musicians. Up to Volume 3 and there's probably 6 Volumes worth of tracks)

- an ambient album (akin to Eno and Fripp etc)

- Leroy remix project (remixes of the debut EP of the funk band I'm in)

- another album in the works, touching on a more classical ideas

- looking into doing 60s inspired lounge album

* SLIMEY THINGS

sci-fi rock band. think Zappa, Devo and Bungle

* SERIOUS BEAK

ex-Ebolie (tech-grindcore) which has morphed into a prog-metal thing, now with the vocalist from Slimey Things. think maybe Meshuggah meets Dillinger Escape Plan with Slimey Things vocals/FX

* LEROY

Funk band - like a gayer version of Parliament (session player only, no writing creds)

* untitled black metal project

akin to DSO, Emperor and maybe Dimmu. Trying to touch on Haf's production techniques too :grimsanta:

* DEATH VALLEY BURIAL GROUND

doom-blues-twang. akin to Earth, Bohren & Der Club of Gore and Sunn O)))

* untitled drone/doom/synthnoise project with Tom

touching on noise artists (both electronic and rock bands) with elements of drone & doom

* various session gigs playing covers & jazz, pop rock etc..

I've got a couple tracks in the works in that style. :xx:

I like being varied when writing, but sometimes it's kind of annoying when I'm explaining what kind of music I write. "Well I have some Blues Punk, some atmospheric/post-rock, some Stoner-Doom Metal, some rockabilly. So you know, I make rock music."

I dig it. The film thing is kind of lame, but half the music wasn't up my alley anyway. It was for a glammy kind of movie and the tunes that I wrote were way Bowie-esque, but she was writing these electro-pop things that I couldn't get into.

under the semi-pseudonym Skot Nocturne (but most often just Skot) I've been doing stuff like http://www.myspace.com/skotnoctis but right now I am wrapping up a gothic metal project I've worked on off and on for a couple years and beginning something like the stuff at that URL but all acoustic instruments.

I want to start a band. It's been a few years since I've been in a solid band. I'm thinking approach from black metal and let my other influences through. I have some ideas, but no people.

Recorded drums yesterday and today for uni777's band Abode of the Blessed... all I can say is; it's going to rip you apart.

It's already began to sound like Hate Eternal's "Conquering the Throne".

Wanting to start band is not proactive enough.

I am starting a new band :fonz:

Had great fun with Void engineering our chaos. The drums tracks are awesome. I really hope i'll get some decent guitar tones.

Now back to practice... This shit is fast (sets metronome to 250 and cramps up..)

Still it is weird. I'm proud of the stuff so far, but on the other hand kind of insecure as how it will compare to all the stuff out there...

BTW, we changed the band name a little. When the whole deal is ready i'll let you in on it. If i am not happy with te result it will not see the light of day.

I like what produces the islandic duder :xx:

__________

a Black Sabbath (ozzy period) tribute band in which I sing, named "THE WRIT".

I had an hard rock band but we split soon cause we didn't have the same musical ideas (the drummer was too much on a motorhead/ramones style, good, but not the kind of music i want to play), so I'm still searching a good situation and people to create it (I want an old school hard/heavy band in which playing my stuff, few covers)

I was jammin also the idea of rock/psychedelic/goth rock band, like The Doors.

I stll exercise with guitat every day. I like shredding a bit on neoclassical solos, but not only, I still keep my metal touch.

I haven't been in a band for about two years and I'm itching to get one going again. Just written 10 rock/metalcore songs recently and I'm hoping to start something up with an old drummer fellating lover :santa:

Time to revise my project list.

-Solo work generally in the Blues/Experimental/Improv style. Although I dabble in "Stoner Rock" occasionally.

-Bluesy Rocky thing band with a well known Philly artist by the name of Vagrant.

-Film soundtrack with a chick that's been half assed so far

- drum edits for uni777's deathmetal band are done, session is ready for bass and guitar recordings, hopefully we'll make time for this soon-ish.

- Take Five jazz quartet mix is done, their drummer is adding some electronic bits, then it's off to Mastering and Vinyl press.

- Tomorrow and thursday rounding up audio book recording edits; a fucking pain in the fucking ass! (working on this simultaneously with 6 people still takes 2 goddamn weeks).

- Friday grand piano and vocal recording day at Factorium / Rock Academy Tilburg.
