Guess so, the cabs and the 900 are the same. Only i bought them in 93 far before internet access. It is a typical end eighties/begin era of the gloryhole rack. Back then the RAT was about the only good pedal avaliable next to the boss DS-1 and the tubescreamer... way before the Metalzone etc. Almost everybody i know uses a badhorsie but the rest is nothing Trey uses. Haven't seen him use a DSL ever. Erik recommended that one to me. The world is back to the true-bypass pedal + $100,- patch-cable trend now. Let me be oldschool
I wonder when my shit will start to give it up though: Marshall from '93, Rat from '88, The tuner is from '94 as is the EQ... the Digitech is more than 15 years old. The only really new things are the DSL and cabs though they are second hand. I traded them for my old slanted one in one deal.
My gear is older than a lot of posters here. Hell, my ironbird is from 85, i know a lot of folks weren't even born then.

Re: Gear pics
The DS-1 and RAT are seventies pedals if you want to get picky.
I was talking about pedals that sounded good to ME back then. I like mild drive pedals because i stack them. The Heavy Metal pedal has a messy breakup. Only the Swedish bands used it in a good way IMO. Heavymetal, Metalzone, hypermetal etc are absolutly non musical to my ears.
I've tried/had so many over the years. In no particulair order: RAT old b o x (wish i still had it), RAT II, RackRAT, Tubescreamer, DS-1, MT-1, HM-2, OD-1, OD-2, Morley DS, Tokai, Metal charger, MOStortion, Comptortion. But i still come back to an old RAT II.
For modern pedals i do like the Amptweaker Tight-Metal.

I got a new guitar a few months ago, it's pretty fucking neat. It's an early 00' Jackson soloist, made in Japan. Neck thru, string thru with an EMG HZ in the neck and a 81 in the bridge. Transparent black over flamed maple. It plays like butter but I'm not a big fan of the emg's
Pictures don't really accentuate how awesome it is

Re: Gear pics
Well yeah some guitarists do this but they usually just swap the bridge passive pickup for an active one and leave the other passive pickup(s) to rot. I know Max Cavalera did this with his BC Rich (Arise/Chaos A.D. era ) where all he uses is just the EMG on the bridge and he actually took out the neck pickup leaving a pickup hole.
I always thought if one desires an active pickup in a dual-humbucker kintar, might as well get an active pickup set. But then again, I'm a noob so pardon my lack of knowledge.

After I got it I did some investigating and I guess it's a pre-fender soloist, which makes me :::::::::: like nothing else. the day I saw it I knew it would be mine

Re: Gear pics
Just upgraded my mahogany bodied fixed bridge RG with a fresh EMG 81/85 set (ZW set) and now it sounds even more menacing. The tone is just ferocious! I can't get enough of it! I had to take it upon myself to slack off the entire week just so I can stay at home and play.

I've always wanted to try a B.C. Rich, whether it's a Warlock, Mockingbird or a V even just for the pointy bodies although coming from an Ibanez, I'm having difficulty predicting the outcome of the experience.
