The only song I really don't like is Declaring New Law. The riffs and the beats in it remind me too much of the happy-tempo-rock stuff on Illud.

Yeah, he tends to write more memorable melodies, while Trey tends to write more complex rhythms.Taurean Mixing wrote:It's that 3 of my favorite tracks are written entirely by Tucker

Re: What are your 3 favorite tracks on Kingdoms?
'D.E.A.D.' has a nice PORTAL/GORGUTS-touch, which is awesome! I also dig the VOIVODesque chord progression in the "verse".
'Architect' is just a crazy ass rollercoaster ride, so many twists and turns in speed and rhythm patterns. It*s a winner!
'From the hand of kings' simply kills it from beginning to end, plus Tucker is on fire here!
The rest of the album is also pretty damn good, not legendary though, but still really good!
The only true low point is 'Declaring new law':
the riffs go nowhere, the solo near the end is a lame ass RUTAN rip off/wannabe and even Tucker's pretty amazing vocal performance can't save this one from being utter B.S.
