Are you good at cooking?

Post by Grudge »

Cooking and baking things? I am in the mood for baking some brownies.

I am a fair cook when it comes some Indian dishes. Especially the chicken curry style food.

I was raised by a chef. My grandmother was a 1st gen Italian-American woman who raised 7 kids and could cook wonderfully. And then I spent a portion of my 20s cooking for a living. Now I cook at home and experiment and have fun.

I'm good in the sense that I hardly ever ruin what I'm preparing as a consequence of being forgetful or inattentive. The biggest issue I have is not being adventurous enough, which is a direct result of not being ambitious enough to regularly pick up things like fresh produce and meat.

I have enjoyed a lot of different instructional videos over the past couple months, and if work ever slows down it will be nice to try some of the recipes out.

On a somewhat related note, one very annoying and possibly recent development in the world of these online videos is the foul-mouthed chef with a larger than life personality and constant references to not caring, drug use, a checkered past, etc. Holy shit these people are annoying. Vice seems responsible for most of them.

I'll never understand why a chef would tattoo his hands to the extent that it appears as though he hasn't washed them in years.
