Who else doesn't jump on the new phone bandwagon
I'm very pleased to not be counted among the millions of morons who waste money on a new phone every year. I'm perfectly happy with my Pixel 2 that I bought in 2017, it has a great camera, and does all the browsing I need at a good speed. I don't think I'm going to get rid of it until it's been with me for 5 solid years. And by get rid of, I mean give it to my mom probably who's going to use it for another 5 years.
Some people are like this with cars now. These things lose 40% of their value in 3 years. Ridiculous.

i am holding off upgrading for as long as humanly possible, i'm locked into the scrapple ecosystem and all of their phones have been shit for years. hoping by the time mine fails they'll come to their senses and bring back the headphone jack, but i have a feeling i'm going to wind up disappointed on that front

i also am the pixel user
but on this note, how and when we update phones is largely out of our control as it depends on how google/scrapple update their software etc. and when and how our phones get shit and when we get impatient etc. etc.
i don't even think about it anymore... i mean it has nothing to do with the hardware, we all remember how fast our windows 98 PCs were and could do most of the same shit we are doing today

luke has abandoned the huawei unit
win98 -> win2k/winXP(pro, SP2 only) was a significant upgrade in terms of stability though, nobody can deny this. uptime before the winNT kernel became the core of every MS OS was a total joke. win2k was the first time i ever ran for weeks at a time without a restart and it was a revelation
but yes functionally speaking PCs have not advanced all that much. we still browse the web and jam tunes, more video now, but otherwise usage patterns haven't changed much

I haven’t bought a new phone in all my life.
Always second hand or my parents passed their old one to me. I’ve got an iPhone 6 and still works fine.
I really don’t care about new models or whatever.

My current phone is my aunt's old iPhone 6. Haven't really seen a reason to change it.

The problem with new phones is that people can get ahold of me. New numbers is where it at.
