Re: Do you drive?
I use to drive an awesome GMC small size pick up truck (no one makes these anymore, which sucks). Perfect vision and great brakes...and a tape deck!!! Now I drive a 2009 Buick Lacrosse.

Re: Do you drive?
If my country had an efficient mass transit system, I probably wouldn't own a car myself. But unfortunately, that's not the case here...never was.

There's still smaller trucks but they'll be slightly bigger compared to those old 80s and gloryhole era ones.

Hit 100k on my way to work Saturday monring
Also ended up buying another car after work. 14 passat tdi with 60k, found it at one of the other dealerships in the company i work for. Hell of a price for one of these for the miles and condition its in.
Not in my possession just yet as there seems to be an issue with one of the glow plugs.

jetta is at 65k now and still going strong, averaged under 10/year since i got it
i think it was at 57ish in may of last year, bulk of that was put on prior to march obviously i've maybe logged 2-3k since then.

Re: Do you drive?
Wasn't a glow plug at all. The dpf was the culprit for that issue and it is in the works. Should have the car in my possession in a few days.Nick wrote: ↑05 Oct 2020, 05:09Hit 100k on my way to work Saturday monring

I was checking out the ro from the vw dealer they sent it to.

The repair does not seem related to the dpf to my parts professional self at all. A dpf lives in the exhaust system and does not touch the fuel system at all. That shit reads like someone fucked up and gassed up a diesel with plain average joe gasoline. Surprised the whole tank wasn't replaced given that it ended up being warranty work.

Re: Do you drive?
Fuel rail, injectors, fuel pump, delivery module, fuel filter. All them is some straight up fat dollar parts that don't all get replaced in one go unless someone fucked up big time.

Re: Do you drive?
Those bits make fuel go from tank to engine to make boom and go fast. If you put regular gas in a diesel engine it gets very fucking angry and there's no real way to clean out those pieces without fucking something up.
