they are getting involved because they feel they have something to gain by doing so and nothing to lose even if it doesn't pan out. which is the correct assessment.

i don't understand what the venezuela thing is supposed to be. is the allegation that maduro is interfering on behalf of biden? on behalf of ANY US president? because jesus fucking christ lol @ that notion

electronic voting is bad for a lot of reasons and should be done away with, but the idea that there's a massive real-time algorithmic vote-tampering program being run is so absurd on its face it is not worth wasting a single thought on

Well British media doesn't tend to have any of these characters and stories, so delving into what's floating around in America is pretty crazy. And being in UK it doesn't matter what I think or believe anyways, just curious.

From what I gathered they are saying these machines are the same kind used in (I assume corrupt) Venezuelan elections and can be remotely controlled to flip votes, add votes, subtract them whatever.

I only know of Giuliani as a mayor of New York really. I'll check it out.

i wish i could think of a good UK analog, but all of the ones that come to mind have been far more successful in conservative politics than giuliani ever was; mayor of NYC was the apex of his political career. he's just rich enough and has maintained enough contacts in conservative media to drag the spotlight back onto him every now and then, lurching ever-rightward to try and stay relevant.

re:venezuela, i get what you're saying. the allegation is totally baseless however. if there were voting machines in use in venezuela that could be used to remotely control elections via backdoor, they would necessarily be accessible to parties in the US, and maduro would've been wiped out in a landslide. the five eyes countries (ours and yours principally) have done everything they can to try and destabilize left-wing rule in south america. if voting machines were a viable lever to that end, guaido would be in power right now. doesn't pass a basic sniff test, imo

that shit in Michigan last night was very humorous. basically two board members were refusing to certify the election results for areas like Detroit which went overwhelmingly to Biden.

one of the board members dropped this bomb on them:

You certified in August when they were worse: less than 50% of the ballots were recountable, now over 72% are. 58% of them were even balast (?), when it was less than 30% last time, so it's doubled; it's gotten way better, because the Secretary of State actually jumped in and did her job 𠈕 unlike you ― but I know it's not going to change your opinion.

You talked about not certifying Detroit even though you acknowledged that Levonia, a city by the way I know you know is 95% white, had bigger variances than Detroit which is 80% black. We understand, and you now added your name. So I'm not going to try to change your mind.
