i watched severance season 1 because everyone is going absolutely apeshit for it and so i succumbed to the hype. the basic premise gives it a lot of potential, which they mostly squander because scrapple needs it to be a big viral hit rather than actually good. so instead of being a vehicle for exploring the many interesting ideas and themes it brushes up against, we instead get a 60 hour mystery plot with birdbrained shit like helly's "DEFIANT JAZZ" party

i think it could have been great if it were a single season and not written with the assumption that the average viewer is severely concussed, but alas

i watched the first episode of the adaptation of three body problem, what the fuck, totally different. that's what i call a liberal adaptation. a lot to think about with it from that angle so i think i will stick with it and finish it but slowly
