The presidential debate review

Post by Grudge »

Takeaways:

Biden:

- Still slurs and stutters as a result of his age-induced mental decline
- Did not royally screw up, was not at a loss for words, or forget where he was, as was originally expected
- Performance could be chalked up as a successful one, since all he had to do was not go down in flames
- Was able to get a few words in on his plan and vision
- The impact is that people who want to vote Democrat but were thinking of abstaining because Biden would be embarassing on stage, might now give him a shot because he can still string a sentence together.

Trum.p:

- Obviously, failed to denounce white supremacy
- Did not clearly address what he pays in federal taxes
- Got attacked a lot by the moderator, or was asked more questions that were critical of him, than were asked of Biden
- Was not able to describe a plan or vision, other than say that the Biden alternative would be worse
- Failed to decisively rip apart, steamroll Biden, as he originally thought he would do

Overall:

- It is unanimously accepted that the debate was awful
- America takes another step towards Idiocracy

Partisan will be the word of 2020... I seriously hope the US will get their shit together but I fear that will not happen in our lifetime.

It does amuse me to see this cliched term used so often when it explains so little. It's as if politics has been anything other than partisan since the dawn of governance, like its new or unusual.

True. But isn't it getting extremely out of hand right now?

I didn't watch but that was a good summary - I'll read up on it in a bit.

This was fucking gold, and went just how I expected it would.

I can't stand to see that orange fucker fart from his mouth for 4 more years on TV, and make a fool of himself time and time again. Please vote sensibly. :santa:
