every few hours i change my mind about this stupid fucking election

the polls look so much better for biden than they ever did for clinton. especially the state polls, which were overlooked or overestimated badly last time. and every decent pollster has changed methodology to weight more for education to correct for the state polling mistakes last time, so the 2020 polls are presumably more accurate

and biden has a fuckton more money than the current president, who is spending what money his campaign has like an absolute turd. a surprise that he would spend poorly, i know

and biden has apparently eroded so much of the current president's previous support among both women and suburban voters that there is functionally nothing his opponent, a person all women and suburban voters and every other person should be repulsed by forever, can do to claw back

but all america's current president has ever done to get things is steal them. so i refuse to ignore the simple possibility that his team of barely lawyers and incompetent grifters will find a plethora of unbelievably shitty, underhanded, excruciating ways to steal this election, too

if the 2020 presidential election is a complete blowout in biden's favor and we know he's the clear and obvious winner on election night itself i may well return to the catholic church

bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea's path to victory lies in the supreme court which already laid the groundwork to flip state results at their discretion. biden basically needs a blowout with an absolutely unassailable margin of victory to guarantee a win. if it's close-ish, say biden wins but flipping 1 or 2 close states would change the result, the election goes to bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea.

it seems that my congressional district, which a democrat won by 1.1% in 2018 after a different democrat lost it by 3.6% the year before in the most expensive house race of all time, is currently so far gone for republicans that they just stopped funding their candidate months ago

the democratic incumbent has a double-digit lead, as does biden. if that is true of metro atlanta in general — and the implication is that it very much is — then i think the state as a whole is already out of reach. clinton only lost it by something like 220,000 votes in 2016, the population has grown since then, and atlanta is almost entirely suburbs
