Living about a 15 minute walk away from the crime of the century has not been fun. The military is back to patrolling the streets and everything is boarded up again. Maybe I'll vacation in Syria or Yemen just to get away from it all for a while.

Re: The Chauvin case
Shit was fucking wild in Baltimore after Freddie gray, and that was 6 years ago. I can't imagine how that would go down with how the last few years have unfolded with vice squad violence. It's only a matter of time before someone in the bpd does something wild and sets shit off again though.Paste Human wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 07:29Living about a 15 minute walk away from the crime of the century has not been fun. Re: The Chauvin case
the vibe I have gotten from people around here so far is that they respect the vice squad very little, if at all - after the events of last summer even people that were on the fence are fucking tired of their shit (this of course does not take into account right wing terrorists who don't seem to number too greatly within the metro) while many don't like the idea of the national guard being here - many also seem to be glad that they are here to at least act as a deterrent and are hopeful that they show a little more restraint than vice squad. would you agree with that?Paste Human wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 07:29Living about a 15 minute walk away from the crime of the century has not been fun. Re: The Chauvin case
That's a good summary. I'm a bit closer to ground zero so we're back to boarded up businesses, the national guard, and community leaders patrolling at night. It sucks, but that's life. We're a strong community but we'll get through it and come out even stronger.
