some dogs are nice, but people who like dogs get a bit too carried away with how amazing they think dogs are

Yes, the unconditional love of animals for human beings is well known. Here are a few more examples of the unconditional love of dogs for people.

Aww, look at the cute labrador, so harmless

How did I know you’d be the one to post something like that?

A lot of dog attacks are because if improper training and or treatment by the owners.

In other countries where they have wild dogs obviously if an animal hasnt been socialized to people then yeah they can be agressive.

So? You can say the same about crimes from human beings. A lot of crime happens because of socio-economic conditions.

And I'm not talking about dogs in other countries, the reports I shared above were all in the US.

I don't know about the middle east but in P.akistan there are plenty of families that keep dogs. Including mine for a long part of my childhood.

There are more strays though due to the general poverty of the country where people have a hard enough time feeding their own kids. Those strays get a hard time.

Since you love analogies so much, I don't say things like "we don't deserve homeless people" either.

I don’t think anyone blames the homeless for their situation. People just feel certain actions are unsafe for both parties and it’s inhumane to allow it unchecked. Actions like running down the streets screaming at folks, shooting up drugs in public, pooping in the middle of the street, etc.

The question is how do we ethicaly help people who often don’t want help?

The majority of attacks are from pitbulls. I hate to bring that up but its fact. I always feel uneasy around pitbulls, but its hard not to. Ecspecially when there are so many cases of them turning on their owners, let alone strangers and other dogs

The problem with pitbulls they are very protective, especially if kids. This means they are NOT a beginner dog due to the training (and socializing) they require.

The other problem, irresponsible people train them to be aggressive which gives them their bad rep.

Interesting fact they are not allowed on most camp sites nor can you register them as service dogs. As a service dog owner I can vouch it is a very time consuming and expensive process even with a dog that aims to please and has a very gentle submissive nature so (as much as I love the pitbulls ive met) I completely understabd the banning.

I know a few pitbulls who are super sweet and great with my own dog.

And I know the opposite.

Reason: their owners.

Owners are the short answer for almost all problems with dogs.

There are differences in breeds but ultimately a fog is an individual as are the owners.

Yes, true.

I've been training with my own and other alaskan malamutes and siberian huskies for 6 years now as a musher. I know their language.

I like them too but I prefer malamutes. They're a bit more relaxed and less ADHD.
