i still haven't seen the first but it seems to have been enjoying something of a critical renaissance these last couple of years. i am intrigued but also very lazy so probably i will sard watching either of them

saw the first one in the theater in 3d, was fun to watch but the story was meh

It'll be a huge theater experience for sure. Don't doubt Cameron on that front.

If you're expecting a tour de force of cinema, which I don't know why you would, you're going to be disappointed. But if you watch it for the action and cinematics, you'll enjoy it. I thought there was some cringy emotional but other than that the action was great, especially whenever the humans brought out the guns.
