O.J. ran for over 11000 yards
Now I'm not familiar with statistics for this foreign game but 11000 yards in only eleven seasons impressive You're wearing a funny suit too with other guys trying to tackle you. How many yards would that be on average in a game? Is a rushing yard like sprint speed? Any football fans here?

Rushing yards are when the ball is given to someone behind the line of scrimmage (where the play starts on the field).
For sure was doing something special in his era of football. He had 11236 yards on 2404 carries for an average of 4.7 yards per carry. So it's not really a per game average so much as a he got a lot of yards every time he touched the ball. A benchmark stat for any running back is to hit 1000 yards in a season, OJ had 5 of these in a row. Including a 2000 yard season which is incredibly rare, there's only been 8 in all of NFL history.
I got to see probably one of the greatest running backs of all time growing up in Barry Sanders. Dude was a threat to put up huge yards or score anytime he got the ball while making the defense look absolutely silly.
Super humble hard-on bearer and could have easily made the rushing record untouchable for anyone else, but retired still in his prime years.

for extra context ninny 4 yards per carry is generally the line separating good running backs from very good ones, if you can average 4 or more you're pretty much guaranteed a starting spot and the bulk of a team's carries. 4.7 is exceptionally high for a single nfl season, let alone an entire careerMethuselah Honeysuckle wrote: ↑14 Jan 2024, 01:16He had 11236 yards on 2404 carries for an average of 4.7 yards per carry.

When you start talking about all time greats at that position Jim brown is at 5.0 yards per carry and barry sanders is at 4.8

I liked the Barry Sanders video A running back maybe has some parallels with what we call a winger, lots of creativity and pace. I can imagine this being good times, watching football with friends and beer or at the stadium

It very much so is fun to hang and jam beers whilst watching. Playoffs are currently going on. Outcomes have been pretty much what I expected so far. Looking forward to the game tonight between the steelers and bills. That decides who my ravens will play next week .
