Re: Retro gaming?
i am back with my findings
the Anbernic RG35XX is a really cool device that can run nes, snes, ps1, gameboy, etc pretty well. clocking in at only $55 USD
https://anbernic.com/products/rg35xx
i am currently most interested in the Retroid Pocket Flip. it's more expensive at $164 USD but i really like the clam shell design. it supports more systems and has some really cool features like being able to run android apps (netflix, etc)
https://www.goretroid.com/collections/f ... TVeOn0WQZP
still checking things out but i may pick up a retroid pocket flip

Re: Retro gaming?
that is my understanding but i'd have to look into it a little further to make sure it's that simple. i also need to procure a good source of roms. i will return with new information at an undetermined date.

Re: Retro gaming?
it seems like emulation starts to struggle when you reach the ps2/gamecube era but some games run well apparently

Re: Retro gaming?
my roommate had the xmen one like 10 years ago after it was re-released on uhh ps3 i think? i didn't feel like it really held up at all, very one-dimensional. was fun to play in the arcade as a kid but did not enjoy it one bit as an adult

Re: Retro gaming?
decided i want to start collecting some of my favorite old consoles. grabbed a wii and n64 recently from https://www.lukiegames.com/ on a black friday sale. some day i hope to have a little retro area going with a big ol' crt tv
i had a wii once and modded it to use roms which was awesome, looking forward to doing that again. also started down the rabbit hole of learning about flash carts for the n64, looks interesting.

Re: Retro gaming?
oh yeah i haven't tossed the NJ yet, if you're actually still interested i'll keep it aside for you. gonna need to ditch that too. i have a bunch of time off over the next couple weeks, maybe i'll catalog the stuff i need to get rid of! but i definitely have a whole mess of NES/SNES stuff, probably a few TG16 things, loads of PSX/PS2/PS3 etc. my entire life in games, pretty much, hahah.
