also uses about 95% less juice than my PC at idle which will be nice for the summer months when I don't want the excess heat

Re: new pc
I just rebuilt my PC a bit ago (right before The Final Shape dropped)
Ryzen 9 7900X AM5 (what the actual fuck were they thinking with the shape of that thing and the lever design?!)
NZXT water block
MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk motherboard
32gb DDR5
GeForce 4060ti RTX OC
and a much much better airflow set up than before

Only differences are I got the Ryzen 7 7700X, Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120SE cooler, and MSI Pro B650-B mobo. I got the Lian Li LANCOOL 216 case in black non-RGB and the cooling is balls great.

It's still my work/entertainment all-in-one solution so I'm still partial to desktop PCs.

Re: new pc
The top plate on the CPU is sooooo fucking annoying. You *have* to use a spreader for the thermal paste because of its stupid shape. Other than that, I have zero complaintsshadowalk wrote: ↑14 Dec 2024, 12:01This is pretty much the new PC that I just got yesterday.Abzu wrote: ↑25 Jul 2024, 01:02I just rebuilt my PC a bit ago (right before The Final Shape dropped)

Re: new pc
I just did the 'X pattern' of applying thermal paste like I always did. I did have to limit the overall square space on where I was applying the paste as opposed to the more traditional CPU shapes that I've handled as the n00b in me was trying not to get any paste onto the open portions where there is circuitry.Abzu wrote: ↑19 Dec 2024, 23:35The top plate on the CPU is sooooo fucking annoying.
