PVP is the beef in DS games, that's what makes DS3 still a popular game to this day.

DSR was great because it was DS on a console i currently have plugged in and was able to co-op with friends.

don't really care for souls PvP in general so i don't have a horse in that race. souls just not a good competitive game series in general IMO. baked-in mechanical jank + hyper-min-maxed builds + jank netcode means the outcome is always a coinflip under the best circumstances. whoops, got a random lagspike on an otherwise stable connection and got backstabbed six times in a row and ate shit in the middle of an anor londo run. no fuckin' thanks pal!

DeSR looks phenomenal, but at a $600 buy-in to play on launch i'm holding out for a little while i think.

i've actually been playing demons souls on ps3 and while it is very good, i'm not about to spend $600 to play it with more pixels

Invasions are so much fun! CHain backstabs is the cancer of Demons Souls and DS1. If you get multiple times backstabbed in DS3 pvp, well... you need to learn to play better. DS3 pvp is far from a coinflip. I don't know if you've played invasions that much when you say that. But I really love taking on gank squads (host and summons). Nothing better than wreck a gank of 4 or so.

Ps. Anor Londo AKA Gank City is the worst area for PVP in DS3, there you might run into McDonalds wifi edgelords. And tha'ts why I never invade there.

that's fair, to be honest i pretty specifically avoided pvp in the later games because of all the jank in the first, and that's largely what my opinion is based on. and i've never really done invasions for the most part. that forest hunter covenant in OG DS1 was the most i engaged with pvp just to rank it up and bailed once i had all the covenant rewards.

Well, my worst scenario came true. The PVP is total garbage. So no PS5 for me at least for now.

i am pretty annoyed at the demons souls remaster being a ps5 exclusive. i refuse to pay $500 for a new console and $70 for games :frown:

i don't refuse to do either of those things but i am also not in a hurry to do either of them

waiting until FF16 before i jump on the ps5 bandwagon, DeS remaster will be cheap by then

i went outside to fetch the recycling bin this afternoon and there was a massive package from a fellating lover on my porch. he sent me a PS5 completely out of the blue

so i went to the store and bought demon's souls and now i gotta try and rip through that before elden ring drops

demons souls is pretty short and way easier than any of the dark souls games but it's great. some parts of it i liked more than dark souls 1, it has some interesting levels

i played through all the dark souls again in the last week or so in preparation for elden ring. probably won't be playing them again for a long time. i can breeze through ds 1 and 2 but ds3 takes way more time, i always struggle with it

oh i've played it before, just haven't touched it in more than a decade at this point. it was the hardest by far IMO but i also played it first so that has a big impact on difficulty perception. the one thing i will concede though is DeS bosses almost all have cheese strats that completely trivialize them and that was mostly done away with in the later games

will probably have this finished by the end of the long weekend, it really is much shorter than i remembered. the fucking staircase climb to old monk is way harder than the boss itself, black phantom mindflayers in that space is fucking dirty

PS5 should be coming this weekend. Highly looking forward to the Demon's remake. Haven't played the original since at least 2016.
