Re: stormy's shoes and apparel haul thread
yeah this is pretty much the response i expected
the design is based off of japanese socks that date back hundreds of years. tabi socks were similarly designed with a notch between the big toe and the others so they could be worn with thonged sandals. martin margiela just decided to take that idea and shift them outwards by one layer. it's probably his most iconic design, they debuted in his first runway show for SS'89 and have been offered in a million different versions every season since. it has always been one of the most polarizing articles of clothing in existence though. a quote from a recent-ish british vogue article on them:
"I have been wearing my Tabis constantly: to Tesco, to work, on the Tube. The reactions they have elicited have been extraordinary. A colleague told me that looking at my feet made her feel physically sick"

well then I guess the answer depends on whether those crocs are nazi germany surplus, and also whether you’re wearing an unironic t-shirt praising a mass shooter

Crocs are horrendous looking but sometimes practical with garden work or on a camping site.jawn galliano wrote: ↑03 Sep 2020, 19:01well then I guess the answer depends on whether those crocs are nazi germany surplus, and also whether you’re wearing an unironic t-shirt praising a mass shooter

/fa/ is the 4chan fashion board and as such is populated mostly by people from every stripe of hard-right reactionary thought, and naturally some of them will fall into the neo-nazi camp (though i have no idea what tendencies are most prevalent)Ostx wrote: ↑09 Jun 2021, 20:15Crocs are horrendous looking but sometimes practical with garden work or on a camping site.jawn galliano wrote: ↑03 Sep 2020, 19:01well then I guess the answer depends on whether those crocs are nazi germany surplus, and also whether you’re wearing an unironic t-shirt praising a mass shooter

hence my little joke about the crocs' /fa/-ness being conditioned on nazi surplus status

hah okay...
all I know is that most of these neo nazi types have no idea what they're talking about and are most likely to be the first to go into the showers during WW2.
fucking morons.
I stay away from all those 4chan, reddit, etc. shitholes

acne studios flared trousers in iridescent orange linen
acne studios cropped trousers in powder blue
navy APC wool turtleneck
mustard APC cashmere blend sweater
thom browne pink seersucker short sleeve button-down

it's not every day that you get to announce to your friends "guys, hold up, i've got a twig stuck in my camel toe" but when the opportunity arises you seize that bitch with haste

Re: stormy's shoes and apparel haul thread
none of them are really into it for the most part, not unusual though since new england just is not remotely a fashion-conscious place (at least in the sense of the avant-garde/designer/high-end stuff that i'm interested in). my brother is the only person around here that really takes an interest in it, which was kind of indirectly how i got switched onto it years ago. he is an infinitely more sensible person than i am when it comes to buying things though

Re: stormy's shoes and apparel haul thread
that mix of materials in a sandal makes me think it would feel weird to wear but i guess that would wear off pretty quick. its really just a matter of how you style it. colorwise it will go just about anywhere, i think they would be at home in a casual summer fit with some nylon patagonia shorts and a t-shirt
