Soon you can put 45 hours into a campaign that luke won't write.

Re: D&D Campaign: Forgotten Realms
d&d groups are best when they draw from already-existing social circles, and introducing foreign elements into them is always a fucking disaster. one of my buddies invited his coworker to join a campaign he was running and we all wanted to kill him by the end of the first session. constantly tried to fuck with everyone and cheated every last goddamned roll. insufferable nerd, i hope he's in hell

He belongs in the back of a game store with the rest of the unwashed masses
I took up d&d again for the first time since 2003/2004. True to stormy's point my group is already well established. So they are plenty willing to put up with my shenanigans when it comes to the rp stuff

Re: D&D Campaign: Forgotten Realms
I just started playing again last Sunday with a new group. Made a high elf 6 war cleric/3 gloomstalker ranger. I got heals, ensnaring strike, turn undead, spiritual weapon and more.

You should probably invest in 5.0 books instead of a honeymoon.
If mabb is actually interested I'd jam a discord campaign

Re: D&D Campaign: Forgotten Realms
I am absolutely up for it. I have zero interest in doing the dm thing, but I'll happily throw in for campaign books or modules.
Weekends work best for me. Currently doing an every other Sunday thing with the possibility of another campaign that would fill my off weeks coming up. I'd much prefer a eastern standard time zone Saturday evening jams if we can make it work.

Re: D&D Campaign: Forgotten Realms
Everything is digital now, no need to spend money on books. My character is all in a PDF. I bring a laptop to play.

Re: D&D Campaign: Forgotten Realms
You need to embrace technology and convenience.
One of my the players in my group was just using his phone to play.

Re: D&D Campaign: Forgotten Realms
At minimum it's 3, but I've always liked 5. Gives you plenty of variety on the table. So you can build your character how you want instead of being forced into certain things because no heals, etc. My current party is 5 and it's wonderful.
Rogue/druid (me)
Cleric/fighter
Barbarian
Sorcerer
Bard
Nice array of abilities on the table with that group
That doesn't include a dm either. I'm just talking people running characters.
