i've heard there's a new ps4 jailbreak that is easy to setup, too scared to enter that territory myself. don't want to brick one of those

i bought a ps5 recently to play the new final fantasy 7 remake, i sunk about 40 hours into it and kind of lost interest

Yeah, firmware upto 11.00. I follow the jailbreak videos by modded warfare. It's meant to be a doddle with a raspberry pi.

so what's actually the point of jailbreaking a ps4, i know you can apply patches/mods to games. can you pirate games after jailbreaking?

yeah jailbreaking/CFW etc are always for pirating, though for obvious reasons the groups releasing these exploits don't 'market' it as such. i'm a little surprised it's so easy to do now, during the PS4's prime years i think it was relatively rare, to the point that i never really bothered to look into it. but i also wouldn't have wanted to give up online play and such, so it was never really on the table i suppose
