This gig kicked Swedish death metal into overdrive

People who've read the Swedish death metal book, know that this gig -the first time Morbid Angel played Sweden- kicked the Swedish deathmetal scene into overdrive. Entombed released the blueprint with Left hand path and everything went from that point on. A key process in death metal imo.

Nah, I wouldn't say so. Bands like Dismember, Grave, Entombed, Unleashed ETC had demos out already in ´88.

You are right, because of tapetading with Morbid Angel and other bands, but this gig is one of the big events that set it all into overdrive.

Yeah, it probably was.

Both Trey and David was pretty much into Entombed back then :xx:

And, I dare say because of being drunk, they all released albums afterwards, not before.

Not that I care about swedish death metal I think it's sucks, and most of the bands are copycats of Entombed, But I wouldn't say that this MOrbid Angel gig kickstarted the swedish scene. Most of the guys got their hands on a Repulsion or Autopsy cassette in 86-87, In the same era that they started their bands.

I'll change the title more precisely.

Page 144 and 146 of the Swedish death metal book says it.
