very interesting to hear Trey's thoughts. I thought him and Rutan were the dynamic duo but I guess I was wrong. makes sense now though why Erik left and came back and left and came back. I guess Trey got on board with the Genitorturers vibe hahahah

I don't understand this "lack of skill" quote regarding Richard.Half the people on this board can play M.A songs fine so I'm sure he could have learned the newer material

He probably was making an excuse on Mike and Richard there was surely some other reason behind it.
The solo in that demo is probably the one trey use to play live in chapel of ghoul back then.

Don't forget that Richard was into drugs also. Learning stuff with having your mind fucked up can be too much of a challenge.
The reason for Mike Browning's split from of Morbid Angel:
So by late July / August '86, the band split in two parts, Richard and Trey remaining together and on the other hand Sterling and you being fired...
"Well, like I mentioned before the reason for the split up of the band was in fact personal more than musical, like I said, I caught Trey kissing my girlfriend and... you know me being young at the time, instead of trying to handle it in a better way, I just basically got into a fight with him and beat his ass and that was pretty much the end of MORBID ANGEL... and like I said, him and Sterling really didn't get along from the beginning so we went ahead and just stuck together, Sterling and I and re-did the INCUBUS band that he had in Georgia."

The album was shelved due to the band disintigrating in a physichal argument over your girlfriend, what happened? Didn't the bandmembers get along well with your girlfriend?
"As I just said I guess Trey got along too good with my girlfriend, I caught them together at Trey's moms house where he lived at the time and I beat his ass so bad that was the end of me being in MORBID ANGEL and jamming with Trey! The next day he came and got his equipment from the house that Richard, Sterling and I lived in and that was the last time we ever played together."

I can recommend reading these sources, they're very in-depth about the early Morbid Angel days.

As I've stated, he wasn't sacked because of lacking musical skills, although Pete turned out to be better.
and,
he only started MA/David Vincent-bashing when the new album came out. I've never heard him ranting bad about Morbid Angel in the 20 years inbetween.

The last time I talked to Mike, he was working on a project with Richard.
By the by, Tucker didn't need any prompting to make his opinion widely known on the new album.

Tucker has declared MA dead, wasn't it? Browning is trying to kick them awake.

To my knowledge, Browning has always been a fan of Morbid Angel despite him not being in the band himself anymore.
He takes his credits, but I've never seen him express any grudge.
He is just as disappointed in the new record as everyone else, he just has chosen to step up on it and make it more outspoken, rather then the more suggestive way other (ex)members expressed themselves.

Re: Morbid Angel - Invocation of the Continual One (DEMO)
I havent really seen a difference between Mike's and Steve's reactions, aside from Steve's being more like a disappointed fan and Mike poking at prodding at the Morbid Angel Facebook page.
