is it to early to discuss the j album?

Discuss the legendary band Morbid Angel here. For twenty years The Chapel has connected the morbid fanbase online.

I don't think he's junior tho. He has already gotten past WTSL behaviour. To him, saying the new MA album is just plain bad is insulting...so, how's this for an insult - GET THE FUCK OUT.

J will incorporate the insane drumming skills of both Pete and Tim, dueling sets in the same style as Charlie Daniel's The Devil Came to Georgia type of shit.

having conquered alternative-nu-chi-whateverfuckmetalnameyoucanthinkofhere - it is on to other genres that must be conquered/liberated. Country, rap, Pop - then ever onward as they begin to take over the world!!!!!!!!! :necro:

Yeah, if he can't handle criticism of his sacred cow, he doesn't need to point his browser to this fucking domain.

I didn't know that MABB is a place where people mock THEIR sacred cow.

It's not Morbid Angel that should change their name, MABB needs a change of name, as it has lately become very AntiMorbidAngelBulletinBoard - so it's AMABB.

well if you're mocking the cow it isn't very sacred now, is it

besides, we're not anti morbid angel. some of us are anti-illud and anyway that's just a function of us being anti-shitty-music. which illud is.

you can't change MABB though, we've been crossing the line since 2002

The only ''hate'' comes from you guys and in almost every thread. I don't even know you guys, so how could I hate you/board?

I am only amazed why some of you haven't allready leave this forum, or is that common for you, that you daily visit forum/board of a band, which you make fun of and insult?

I think that anybody with ears (which I assume includes you) should be able to hear, whether they like the album or not, that Illud is a massive change in direction for Morbid Angel. I also hope that anyone with at least an ounce of intelligence can understand that someone may not like the new direction of the band but still be able to enjoy the rest of the discography. That's why I'm still posting here, even after having heard Illud... I don't like the new direction but I do like the rest of the discography.

i'm gonna break this down real nice and simple for you: it is possible to still love the morbid angel that supplied us with the 80's demos all the way through heretic, while simultaneously holding that illud is a clusterfuck of terrible ideas coupled with equally terrible execution.

you seem to be seriously attached to this idea that since some of us do indeed hate or dislike or just generally aren't warmed up to illud, we must therefore also hate morbid angel generally. to state it plainly, that idea is wrong.

a lot of us have been posting here for nearly a full decade. MABB has a life outside of morbid angel discussion. one shitty album isn't gonna disband the 'community'

I've only been listening to Morbid Angel for 3 years [since I was fifteen, I remember quite clearly puzzling over how incredibly odd Altars sounded to me at the end of my 10th grade exam periods] and I still think Illud sucks.

Let's forget about this misstep rightaway and hope for a J album that contains the best MA has done, David, Trey and Pete, aided by everyone who was ever associated with MA: guest appearances by Erik Rutan, Tony Norman, Richard Brunelle, Steve Tucker, Mike Brownie & Mike Davis!

Oh well..one can dream...

Prior to Illud, Morbid Angel had a message of sorts, lyrically. If you buy into the concept of sacred cows in the first place, then you completely missed it. Congratulations. No wonder the new lyrics don't bother you; you completely missed the point of the old ones.

this is the point at which stormy won both the thread and the MA discussion section of the board and everything else became irrelevant

It might just happen that they do release J.

Perhaps now that they have this experiment phase out of them, maybe they will concentrate and put something else good down on wax.

Check Slayer, a band that's been around a long time and still hits the studio on a regular basis. Hopefully MA will produce more material, I'd hate to see them go out like this.
