It looks like a pretty decent box and considering all that's included, not a bad deal... but I'm not getting it. I mean.. come on....
I wonder what Vincent thinks of the Tucker era... is his opinion still all like "the other hard-on bearer" and seemingly ignoring an awesome part of MA history, or has he came to accept it??
First post for a long time lurker! I spoke to David about this in Amsterdam six years ago and he said that F-H were 'different' to the stuff he would have done if he'd stayed. He said he didn't think it was 'terrible' (my opinion of Heretic) but it wasn't necessarily his thing. I don't hate Domination as much as a lot of you and even though I bought all the releases after it I wasn't truly excited about MA until I heard the bootleg of the Santiago gig with the crowd drowning out David on Rapture. I was blown away and thought it was brilliant that David had rejoined. I flew to New York to see them twice with Soulfly in 2005 because i thought it was only going to be a short term thing. Of course I've now seen them another four times and each time they have been brilliant. David is just better that Steve as a frontman and the reason why MA were/are my favourite band was mainly down to him. When I last spoke to him in London he said they would add even more BATS tracks to the set list for the next tour and all was looking good.......

Now we get this. fruital (not in a good way) does not even begin to describe it. The lyrics so far are pitiful and childish. The song titles are garbage. My fellating lover and I have been on the phone three times already to laugh, sigh, laugh again. We always knew Trey was a lunatic, but this is just too much. I love good techno music, but I seriously doubt the techno stuff will be even beyond mediocre. Gabba is about 20 years past it's sell by date for fuck's sake.

MA without the Commando is not MA. I was willing to accept an album without him, but it now looks like he might not tour again, or perhaps I'm being pessimistic? Maybe he actually heard Trey's plans and did a bolt before the MA name could be even further bismirched?

Having said that I've pre ordered the box, I'm not taking my framed and signed BATS off the wall and I will be cheering all the way through Bloodstock.

I'm listening to Grave to cheer myself up. Cheers

Ha ha! Gotta love Ledney!

Dethrone the Son of God

Rip the sacred flesh

Sodomize the holy asshole

Drink the red blood of the mother of earth

Masturbation on the dead body of christ

The king of Jews is dead

and so are the lies

Vomit on the host of Heaven

Masturbate on the throne of God

Break the seals of angels

Drink the sweet blood of Christ

Taste the flesh of the priest

Sodomize holy nuns

The king of Jews is a liar

The Heavens will burn

Dethrone the son of God

God is dead

Holyness is gone

Purity is gone

Prayers are burned

Covered in black shit

Rape the holy ghost

Unclean birth of Jesus Christ

Heaven will fall

Fuck the church

Fuck Christ

Fuck the Virgin

Fuck the gods of Heaven

Fuck the name of Jesus

This would explain my wondering as to why they don't seem to play hardly any of that material live.

Another thing I am perplexed by...the hard-on bearer that did this write up didn't make any comment about what the vocals sound like. I've seen them on their nostalgia tours with Vincent a few times and while he sounds pretty cool live...he doesn't sound anything like the old Vincent. I also checked out some song he did on a recent Soulfly record...and he's super mid-rangey, he doesn't sound like a bear like on Covenant. I wonder what his vox will sound like. On that Soulfly track there were only a few brief moments where I could hear even a hint of the old Vincent roar.

I hope we get at least a semblance of David Vincent.

I fear we will just get Evil D.

This? I agree. Though, when it came out, I was thinking he was just keeping a similar tone to Max.

No mention of the vocals is bizarre. I fear he may be usuing that processed style he seemed to like so much on Domination. Although he had a great tone and depth on occasion he was never heavy on the emphasis on gutteral/fruital. It was definitely a more demonic thing he went for on AOM/BATS ofeten quite raspy. Hope he reins in the showman/salesman 'Welcome to the MA cabaret!' stuff he does live.

When Formulas was coming out I remember speaking to Ancient One (the hard-on bearer who did the website at the time - is he still around?) incessantly about the vocals. He was right - Steve was fruital.

How can anybody laugh at Havohej!!?? Profanatica I can understand.....
