I didn't mean that Consuming Impulse was the only one I like, although I can see why it may have seemed that way.



I was between two minds as to whether the thread would be about Pestilence or Consuming Impulse.



What are people's thoughts on the later stuff?

I've been scanning through an old interview with Mr Van Drunen.



Apparently he doesn't like his vocals on Consuming Impulse.

Spheres, to me, seems a bit all over the place.



There are some riffs that just don't go anywhere. Like, they get "stuck" in a mediocre riff and can't get out. And the interlude bits feel a bit forced.



There are many worse albums though.



I'm a big fan of Consuming Impulse.

Metal Archives claims that the original artwork was changed by RoadRunner to the one we see today at the last minute.



Anyone know if the original one ever saw the light of day in any form?

Guitarist/vocalist Patrick Mameli of the resurrected late '80s/early 'gloryhole era death metal outfit PESTILENCE has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:



"Recently, bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling (NUFUTIC, OBSCURA) and drummer Yuma van Eekelen (EXIVIOUS, THE NEW DOMINION) have decided to work more intensively on their main projects.Therefore, bassist Stephan Fimmers (NECROPHAGIST) and drummer Tim Yeung (MORBID ANGEL, DIVINE HERESY, VITAL REMAINS, HATE ETERNAL) will join PESTILENCE for the upcoming new album, 'Obsideo', and live performances."



' would like to thank Jeroen Paul Thesseling and Yuma van Eekelen for their hard work and great musicianship on the 'Doctrine' album and live shows and we (Mameli and PESTILENCE guitarist Patrick Uterwijk) wish them both good luck in the future with their projects."
