Saw Sepultura, Obituary, and Claustrofobia the other night, ‘twas a fucking killer show - I got pretty fucked up in the pit and stupidly went to work the next day. :bang:

Agonistic Front were also there - not really my thing but they were fun.

Seeing Testament / Kreator / Possessed tonight :santa:

Possessed and Kreator were :xx::::::::::::::
Testament were better the last time I saw them, still a very enjoyable show though :bang: they also had an exclusive beer at the show they collaborated with local brewery on - good stuff. also realizing how out of shape I’m in - had to take it easy in the pit, only did a few songs. :oldryan:

Seeing Amorphis and Dark Tranquillity tomorrow :santa:

three shows in one week, the man is out of control, he cannot be stopped

sisters round 2 was on sunday and it was a great time, much better venue this time around and the new guitarist is a great addition. andrew still a little too buried in the mix, but he's mostly still got it

I am tempted to see Sisters of Mercy here but there are so many other shows happening next month and November don’t think I can do it.

i'd say it's worth it if you haven't seen them before, especially if all your other shows are bands you've already seen. the new songs are good fun and the rest of the setlist is killer!

Dark Tranquillity / Amorphis / Fires in the Distance. Incredible gig! Venue was absolutely packed to the rafters and the crowd was really into it - lots of singing, chanting, and moshing was had. :xx: venue was also hot as fuck, I think everyone including the bands left there absolutely soaked in sweat. :oldryan:

I’ve got these lined up but only actually have a ticket to Panopticon (good thing too, show sold out months ago):

10/5 Hatebreed / Carcass / Harm’s Way / Crypta @ Skyway
10/6 TBDM / Dying Fetus @ Fillmore
10/8 Gatecreeper / Frozen Soul / Worm @ Fine line
10/13 Panopticon @ Turf Club
10/22 Sisters of Mercy @ Fillmore
10/30 Gwar / Dark Funeral / Squidpisser @ Skyway
11/10 King Diamond / Overkill / Night Demon @ Fillmore
11/26 Exodus / Havok @ Varsity

Probably won’t hit all of them up, but we shall see….

Frozen Soul was god damn amazing, they whipped the crowd into a frenzy and had people stage diving on par with a municipal waste concert.
Gatecreeper were cool and all but honestly I feel like Frozen Soul should have been headlining. :bang:

Panopticon were killer the other night - they hardly ever tour and I just assumed I was never gonna see them but alas I was able. I rarely buy tickets super far in advance but I had a feeling about this show and sure enough it sold out months ago. The opening bands that were on tour with them were outstanding as well - folk black metal band Primeval Well from Tennessee really set the mood and were followed by blackened doom metal band Exulansis from Portland who were just straight up fucking awesome - violin player did black metal vocals while playing !

I saw a live video of sfu recently. Barnes looks about 90 but his didn't sound like complete garbage like the last 20 years.

When they were doing sound check Barnes was off the stage somewhere and all you heard was “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…. Alright sounds good” suffice to say it gave the crowd a good chuckle.

Also - Nile were good and sounded tight but the energy that was there with previous line ups just wasn’t there. Still, enjoyed their set, jumped into the pit for the 2nd half of it.
