First concert in two years (caught Vader in February 2020) - this show was fucking awesome! Dark Tranquillity never disappoint and Kataklysm was a lot of fun - actually jumped in the pit for a few songs.
Nailed to Obscuirty from Germany opened - very Paradise Lost-ish. glad I planned ahead and took today off - I have no voice and my neck is killing me from headbanging.

props to the city of Minneapolis and the venue for actually enforcing vax mandates and allowing concerts to go on.

CC is playing with a bunch of garbage deathcore bands - think I might skip this one since there are a bunch of other shows coming up and the show is nearly sold out anyways. I dunno. we'll see.

on another note - Napalm Death and Pig Destroyer just got announced for 5/3.
I don't see any tour announcements yet but that seems likely.

so ND is touring in the spring but this show isn't part of the tour apparently, it's part of a craft beer festival i guess? three floyds is involved. anyway i am super, super fucking jealous of this one-off - they're playing here in april, but opening for arch enemy and behemoth

cannibal corpse was fucking awesome. the show was actually sold out - 2500 people! openers Shadow Of Intent were a welcome surprise - apparently they're considered deathcore but I didn't really hear it to be honest, had more of a melodic death metal vibe to them. Revocation tore it up as usual. didn't really care for Whitechapel (why the fuck do they have 3 guitarists?!) but tried to keep an open mind and stood in the back slamming several beers.

I had to take a pretty bad piss after this and stood at the urinal next to a tranny which was something. I went up front for Cannibal Corpse and fucking loved it - the crowd was nuts too pretty much non-stop pit and the first several rows up front couldn't stand still, lots of crowd surfers. haven't been to a show like that in a loooooong time - I think people were just happy to be at a show with covid on the severe decline and lots of restrictions being lifted. someone threw a target giftcard and a lego set on stage for george which he was very happy to receive. I kept yelling at Erik until some dude next to me got a little too excited that I knew who mr Rutan was and tried to hook my up with his wife....

early show too, I got home before 11pm which was kind of nice.
