that's david palmer, who did perform in the actual live recording that took place in this clip, which for some reason has the studio track dubbed over it (which means you're hearing emperor baby fists fagen's vocal track)

oh HELL yes! i'm sincerely glad you enjoyed it. steely dan really were the pinnacle of session projects, the musicians they packed onto that initial run of albums is just mindblowing.

i still can't get over the fact that the lead on third world man was a throwaway outtake from the royal scam sessions. it fits in here so seamlessly, it's absolutely insane! larry carlton had no idea he was even on gaucho until well after it came out.
