I know I'm in the minority on the bard when I say that Chimera is one of Mayhem's best records. Daemon actually reminds me of a cross between Chimera and DMDS which is a good thing in my book.

I absolutely love this band.
Their last two records are masterpieces IMO.

chimera is the only album of theirs that i'm never, ever tempted to revisit :redneck: love pretty much everything else, even that goofy-ass grand delcaration joint

ordo is a great one too  i saw them on that tour! at the ground zero in spartanburg, which was dinky even by previous standards (upstairs at the palladium x 2)

Ordo Ad Chao is indeed fucking amazing. I love the direction their compositions took on that one and Teloch and Attila masterfully continued that same vibe on Esoteric Warfare.
Them touring De Mysteriis influenced their writing for Daemon a lot and it really rubbed off in a great way. I like how it's different from Ordo and Esoteric but still make sense in their discography.

I'm very curious where this is taking them for a possible next record.

Stormy; have you listened to the remixed/remastered Grand Declaration? It sounds really fucking good. Better drum and guitar sound.
