I know I'm in the minority on the bard when I say that Chimera is one of Mayhem's best records. Daemon actually reminds me of a cross between Chimera and DMDS which is a good thing in my book.

They have their classics for sure but I feel like Mayhem has def evolved for the better

chimera is the only album of theirs that i'm never, ever tempted to revisit love pretty much everything else, even that goofy-ass grand delcaration joint

ordo is a great one too i saw them on that tour! at the ground zero in spartanburg, which was dinky even by previous standards (upstairs at the palladium x 2)

Ordo Ad Chao is indeed fucking amazing. I love the direction their compositions took on that one and Teloch and Attila masterfully continued that same vibe on Esoteric Warfare.
Them touring De Mysteriis influenced their writing for Daemon a lot and it really rubbed off in a great way. I like how it's different from Ordo and Esoteric but still make sense in their discography.
I'm very curious where this is taking them for a possible next record.
Stormy; have you listened to the remixed/remastered Grand Declaration? It sounds really fucking good. Better drum and guitar sound.
