I've always found this type of music to be oddly soothing. There's a meditative quality to it.

Just came late to the party but still wanted to say I found it quite interesting. It gives me "At The Gates Of Midian"/"Nar Mattaru" although not so dark/menacing as the latter.
Wide open 'til you see God, then BRAKE!
