Kerry King V

Does anybody here have one of these? I played one at Guitar Center a couple weeks ago and I really liked the sound, it sounds exactly like the live sound Kerry gets. I've never had more fun ripping through the Angel of Death breakdown.

I just want to know if there's any better choice as far as a beginner metal guitar goes, I'm hesitant about getting active pick-ups because of having to switch batteries out all the fucking time. I'm not in a band and I just play at home for fun right now, but I'm getting serious and I want something more accustomed to playing the way I want to than the cheap off brand strat I have with one bridge humbucker and 22 frets -_-

I have a decent practice amp, so I don't have to worry about that. I've been playing about a year now and I'm starting to get serious, but I'm pretty clueless as to where I should start as far as a good guitar for what I want to do goes.

Have not got one so i cannot help you with that. What i do know is that the more recent neck-thru Riches are pretty ok.

I do like the shape of the guitar just not the graphics.

I would not worry about the battery. Normally they should last up to a year or two. Provided you unplug while not playing.

The biggest question is do you like the sound of actives. I do not but that is completely personal.

Alright, the only reason why I was concerned about how long they last was when I went to the store to play the KKV the battery was dead and they had to change it out. I do like the sound of the actives, and I'll probably get the KKV but the V design is something I'll have to get used to. I was thinking about getting another BC Rich model or maybe one of these:

It's a hell of a lot easier to fly up the neck with a V, though.

I would take that guitar if you would be black or white finish, no tribals.
