I really dig a lot of the songs/bands I've been hearing from this guys Youtube channel, most of it seems to be from Europe.

from what i can see, his channel is mostly finnish old school DM. if you dig those, try also some newer bands playing this style: Deathevokation, Slugathor (skip the debut), Funebrarum (they realeased their sophomore this year and, to me, it sounds very much like a continuation of Convulse's World Without God with some other stuff thrown in for good measure

), Gorement (swedish old school, but they sound more like a doomier/more melodic early Amorphis; a compilation was released, not to long ago, that contains all of their relevant material: Darkness of the Dead), Cosmic Atrophy (straight up Demilich worship with some obvious Timeghoul moments), Denial (mex) (demilichian riffs in simpler/catchier structures, really awesome), Dead Congregation (think NYDM a la Immo/Inca with the morbidity and melodic sensibility of the early finnish scene), Fleshcrawl (the debut sounds like swensk dods metal hatched in the putrid finnish landscapes with some "sweet" doomy moments), Sororicide (they're from iceland, but wouldn't feel too much out of place in the land of 1000 lakes)

plus 4 up-and-coming young demo bands: Krypts, Vorum, Stench of Decay, Cruciamentum

Kind of releated, seeing it's from the prime era of death metal (91-92)

I watched this last night.

It's OK, and it had some bands i'd never heard of.

Prophecy Of Doom, Cerebral Fix, Sonic Violence & Vengeance Rising.

Prophecy Of Doom were kinda OK, sort of Bolt Thrower-esque with more post-FETO Napalm grind.

Cerebral Fix were just yucky.

Sonic Violence started out cool, heavy Godflesh type stuff, but then the vocals came in & they were bad!

Vengeance Rising were just hilarious!! Christian death/thrash.

The Napalm, Carcass & Morbid interviews were kinda boring.

The MA footage was lame too, as it just used the album track over live footage.

Best of the lot for me was Nocturnus & Godflesh. Never heard Nocturnus live and it was great to hear that shit again!

Justin's was interesting talking about how heavy Godflesh are without being "we're so heavy growl" etc etc.

Not sure if this torrent works, as i stopped it loading before it loaded fully - because i'm at work, and torrent seacrh sites often have pron all over them.

since i always thought of Adramelech as a sort of Demigod jr, i prefer the parent band

in the same vein, Depravity is also worth a mention (too bad they only have a couple o' demos and 1 EP

) and so is Cartilage (just the split with Altar but it's pure

)

lava-sir, be also sure to check out the 4 demo bands i mentioned in the earlier post. they be modern young 'uns playin' in them traditional finnish way

(plus Slugathor, Funebrarum, and partly Deathevokation)

not DM spawned from the 1000 lakes, but there is a criminally underrated band that is seldom mentioned and released only 2 demos (

although techincally Lykathea Aflame does have only one album, it's worth mentioning that the previous incarnation of said band, namely Appalling Spawn, is very similar (and worth checking out) since it's the same line-up minus the drummer. the music is also quite similar, but rawer, no middle-eastern flavoring and the lyrics aren't all happy-go-lucky
